small batch of taylor swift’s inspired chai sugar cookies~

Ingredientes

  • chai sugar cookies
  • 2 tbsp (approx) | 28g unsalted butter (room temperature)

  • 2 tbsp (approx) | 27g canola oil

  • 2 tbsp (approx) | 25g granulated sugar

  • 1 tbsp (approx) |13g powdered sugar

  • half an egg (you can mix an egg and only add 1/4 of it)

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • chai tea bag

  • 1/2 cup | 60g all-purpose flour

  • a pinch of baking soda

  • a pinch of salt

  • glaze
  • ⅓ cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tbsp of heavy cream or milk

  • cinnamon (to sprinkle)

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Stir the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the butter, canola oil, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until they’re completely incorporated.
  • Cut one chai tea bag open and empty a third of the crushed up tea leaves into the batter.
  • Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. The dough will be soft.
  • Refrigerate the dough for 1 hour or freeze it for 15 minutes to make it easier to handle.
  • Preheat the oven to 350F/175C.
  • Scoop the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8 to 12 minutes at 350F/175C, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool completely.

  • Mix together the powdered sugar and heavy cream or milk.
  • Add the icing on the cookies and lightly sprinkle cinnamon over the cookies.
