Strawberry Jam
Instructions
- Vanilla sheet cake
- Preheat the oven to 176C/350F.
- Using an electric hand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together on medium speed until fluffy.
- Add the oil and mix until combined. Add in the eggs, mixing one at a time. Next, add the vanilla extract and mix.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Sift half of the flour mixture into the wet mixture and slowly mix until just combined.
- Add and mix the milk. And finally, add the remaining flour mixture and mix until fully incorporated.
- Pour the batter into a lined 10 x 15-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Bake for 25 to 28 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before removing from the baking pan.
- Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
- Whip the butter and salt together
- Sift in the powdered sugar and mix, scrape the bowl down.
- Add the heavy cream and vanilla, mix until you get a fluffy consistency. You can add more cream if you want a thinner consistency.
- Transfer the frosting to a piping bag fitted with a small star tip.
- Assembly
- Cut the cake using a heart shaped cookie cutter. I also cut some of the hearts in half because they were too thick.
- Pipe the buttercream over the mini cakes and add strawberry jam over it like in the video.
- Enjoy!
