Ingredients
- Vanilla pudding
You can buy instant vanilla pudding mix or a pre-made one, but if you are making it from scratch like me these are the ingredients you’ll need:
1 ¼ cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
A pinch of salt
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Banana pudding
½ cup heavy cream
1 tbsp confectioners sugar or granulated sugar
1 cup vanilla pudding (if you made it from scratch using my recipe, just add all of it)
⅔ to 1 cup cold milk
¼ to ½ sweetened condensed milk (depending on how sweet you want the pudding)
½ tablespoon vanilla extract
Vanilla wafers
2-3 bananas, sliced (I used the mini heart from this cookie cutter set to make it cute)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Vanilla pudding
- You can buy instant vanilla pudding mix or a pre-made one, but I made it from scratch because I couldn’t find any in the store, and it’s also super easy.
- Bring 1 cup of the milk to a slow boil in a saucepan.
- In a bowl, mix together the sugar, salt, and cornstarch. Whisking throughout, add the remaining ¼ cup of milk until smooth.
- Gradually add the hot milk and mix it together.
- Return the mixture to the pot and stir constantly with a wooden spoon until it returns to a gentle boil and add the vanilla extract.
- Pour the mixture into a plate. Chill in the refrigerator until firm, about 2 to 4 hours or overnight.
- Banana pudding
- Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, whip the heavy cream and sugar on medium-high speed until medium peaks form, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add and mix together the vanilla pudding, milk, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.
- Layer wafers, banana slices, and pudding mixture in a glass serving bowl (this recipe made two large cups of banana pudding, but you can make one big banana pudding if you want).
- Chill in the fridge until serving and Enjoy!
